The Highland Mint brings to you Ebbets Field, the location of the LA Dodgers from 1913-1957. The field was home to some of the most historic events in MLB history, to include the first game of Jackie Robinson on April 15th, 1947; a moment that truly united a country. Ebbets field is now presented to you in an exclusive Highland Mint Ebbets Field Photo Mint, featuring an 8 x 10 black and white image of the field. The photo is custom matted within two ply matting, and sits just above the two included gold coins, which are also mounted within the frame. Both coins are struck in 24 karat overlay gold, with one featuring the logo of the LA Dodgers, and the other an image of Ebbets Field. A Highland Mint certificate of authenticity is included, and mounted within the frame to prevent any damage, usually occurring during storage. The Highland Mint presents the Ebbets Field Photomint. HOME OF THE BROOKLYN DODGERS 1913 - 1957. Ebbets Field opened on April 9, 1913, as the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Many historical events, played out in Ebbets Field, were etched in public memory. Certainly the most important one was Jackie Robinson making his debut on April 15, 1947 and playing first base for the Dodgers. What could have been a tense situation was defused when Dodgers shortstop Pee Wee Reese put his arm around Robinson before the game, letting the crowd know that he was on Robinson's side in any potential standoff.
